Mercenary Update

September 17, 2010

I’ve been rather busy this past month and haven’t had much time to draw. Here is an update of the mercenary I posted a while back. I think she looks a lot better. Also, I’m not sure if I want to keep the dual guns or give her a sword and gun combo. Any suggestions?

Old version.

I’ve been working on a few paintings at the same time, switching back and forth constantly. Here is one of them so far, it’s Kratos from God of War fighting the hydra boss. The weapons are temporary place holders for something that will look much better. This still needs a lot of work, but it’ll get there eventually.

Mercenary WIP

A character painting I started. She is supposed to be some kind of futuristic mercenary/assassin with a bitchy attitude. I’m not sure the perspective is right when it comes to the legs and feet, if something looks off, please leave a comment. Also, she is going to need a name. Any ideas? I can see her becoming a reoccurring character in my future paintings. Digital painting.

And no, I haven’t forgot about the other painting I was working on, I just needed a break from it.

Almost there…

Mainly updates on her face, ear, hand and right arm. Not too much work left on it, this will probably be the last work in progress shot.

Part 2

May 4, 2010

I decided to post another picture of this painting so far. This is a couple more hours after working on it. Main updates are darkening certain areas, and working on details on face, hair, feet, and lower back. I’ll probably post a couple more before I finish it.

Work in progress

May 2, 2010

I haven’t ever saved images of my art in progress, so this time I decided I would. This started to just be a quick sketch with some value, but I started liking it more and more as I worked on it, so I’ll probably turn this into a completed piece eventually. This is at the 3 hour mark. Photo reference is being used. The color blobs on the side are there for when I’m painting to switch colors I’ve been using. Makes things easier.

I’m not even going to try and pretend that this photo doesn’t suck. However, it is just here to quickly show a friend and no, the painting isn’t even finished. I still have some touch-ups to do. Project for university, supposed to pick an object and paint it 12 times with different colors. I’ll post it again (with a much better photo) when it’s done.
